We’ve been renovating our house for years now. One room was to be the Library, with built-in wooden bookcases. We wanted the room to be elegant, stylish and sophisticated, with a mix of modern and art deco touches.
I elected myself to be in charge of making the medallion for the chandelier. It was to be the centerpiece of the room, several feet in diameter. I would use our newly purchased CNC Shark Pro to take designs I made on the computer to carve out a three-dimensional sculpture.
The project would combine several interests of mine: computers and art, astronomy and myth.
What follows is an account of how I did it.
